Heat exchangers are devices that transfer heat from one destination to another by transferring heat between fluids. Refrigerators and cars use heat exchangers that are relatively basic. Heat is transferred by moving one fluid through a series of parallel tubes while another fluid is pumped through a wider shell containing the tube bundle in a shell and tube heat exchanger. Depending on the system's layout, it will heat or cool any fluid. Waste heat is injected through the larger shell of some processes, which heats the fluid flowing into the smaller tube; this heat may be in the form of steam rather than another liquid.
Corrosion-Resistant Steel is a term used to describe stainless steel because it does not crack, oxidize, or rust as quickly as carbon steel. It would be deceptive to say that it is corrosion-proof. It differs from standard Carbon Steel in that it contains more Chromium, which prevents surface corrosion, whereas Carbon Steel will rust when exposed to humidity and air in the environment. Thermal Conductivity: stainless steel 1.4301 offers moderate thermal conductivity, approximately 16.2 W/m-K at room temperature. This property enables the material to transfer heat efficiently.

Strength: ASME SA249 stainless steel 304 Tube are characterized by their impressive tensile strength, in the range of 515 MPa. This strength allows them to withstand significant pressure without deforming.
Elongation: An elongation percentage of about 40% allows these tubes to stretch without breaking, allowing some flex in various applications.
Chemical Properties:
Composition: stainless steel S30400 mainly consists of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, and other elements such as manganese, silicon, carbon, and phosphorus.
Oxidation Resistance: ASTM A249 TP304 heat exchanger tubes can resist oxidation up to 870°C in continuous service and up to 925°C in intermittent service. This quality enables them to function efficiently in applications with fluctuating temperatures.
